DENVER (KDVR) — A big warm up will begin on the Front Range starting on Monday. Afternoon high temperatures will hit the upper 40s with sunshine and dry conditions. This is near Denver’s average high temperature of 50 degrees for this time of year.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be even warmer with more sunshine and dry conditions. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 50s both days.
A cold front will swing through on Thursday knocking high temperatures into the low 50s. The Front Range will only have a 10% chance for an isolated shower with better chances in the mountains.
Friday and Saturday will be a little taste of spring with temperatures at or just below 60 degrees. Next weekend looks mild and dry in Colorado.
NOW. IT IS PRETTY MILD OUTSIDE, 49 IS THE CURRENT TEVA CHART. 52 IN MONROE BERG, LOOK AT UNIONTOWN, 61. IT WILL STAY MILD RIGHT THROUGH THIS EVENING UNTIL A COLD FRONT PASSES LATE TONIGHT, THAT IS WHEN IT STARTS TO TURN CHILLIER. NOTHING OF A WIDESPREAD MAJOR. OUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY IS AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, WITH THE COLD FRONT. THE SAME AREAS SOUTH OF I 70 ARE AT RISK FOR SOME RISES ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS, MONITORING THOSE ON THE RIVERS AS WELL. AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE EVENING AND EVEN PAST MIDNIGHT, TEMPERATURES STAY IN THE 50’S. AFTER 4:00 AND 5:00 IN THE MORNING, BEHIND THAT COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH, BRINGS THAT NEXT ROUND OF WIDESPREAD RAIN SHOWERS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. BREAKING IT DOWN FOR YOU HOUR-BY-HOUR. 2:30 IN THE MORNING WIDESPREAD RAIN, DRYING OUT PRETTY RAPIDLY. SHOULD GIVE WAY TO AFTERNOON SUNSHINE, THEN WE BREAK OUT WITH BIG BREAKS OF SUNSHINE THROUGH THE MIDDLE PARTS OF THE WEEK. LOOKING AT A PRETTY DRY STRETCH OF WEATHER FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF THE MONTH. NOT THE CASE TONIGHT. ADDITIONAL RAIN TOTALS. 39 TONIGHT, SHOWERS RETURNING LATE, TEMPERATURES LEVEL OFF RIGHT AROUND 40, 42. MORNING CLOUDS, BREEZE WITH AN AFTERNOON SUNSHINE. We're in the midst of a break in the rain, which will likely last through the evening. The next round of showers will arrive after midnight with an approaching cool front. This next round will not produce nearly as much rain as we had earlier today. Ahead of this front it will stay quite mild the rest of this evening in the mid to upper 50s. Behind the front it will dry out quickly with temperatures starting to drop after 4 a.m. There remains a flood watch for Fayette County and river flood advisories for parts of the Monongahela River. Monday (and March) will start with lingering clouds in the morning then breaks of sun in the afternoon and a gusty breeze with temperatures in the low 40s. It looks like a quiet and dry stretch with daily sun Tuesday through Friday.Tonight: Cloudy, another round of showers after midnight, temperatures in the 50s through 3 a.m. then falling into the upper 30s by daybreakMonday: AM Clouds, PM Sun, Breezy, High: 43Tuesday: Mostly sunny, High: 40

The severe drought that swept through Colorado in 2020 could be a harbinger of what the future will hold. However, in the arid Southwest, it’s not the first time that such challenges have wrecked lives and livelihoods.
In this part of the series we'll share images that explore the history of The Dry, a Black community in southeast Colorado undone by drought. The community was started back in the 1910s, with high hopes of reliable water resources from a local irrigation canal, and the passion of nearly 50 families that moved from across Kansas and Oklahoma to start a new life as homesteaders in Eastern Colorado.
