NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - In the wake of Sunday’s cold front..Monday should be cool and dry. Most of moisture will be shunted to the south of Nebraska so it should feel less humid as well. Patchy morning fog may be in place early in the day, especially around those areas that experienced the heavier rainfall over the weekend. The fog should clear out by mid morning. Easterly winds will start the day but by Monday afternoon we’ll transition to southerly winds which means moisture returns to the area setting the stage for more precipitation later in the week.
The weather pattern this week will be dominated by a northwest flow of winds in the upper levels of the atmosphere which will steer in a series of disturbances bringing back rain chances from Tuesday on. An upper level low pressure system over the High Plains of Wyoming may find its way east bring with is increase chances for thunderstorms heading into Wednesday and Thurday. Temperatures will be cooler as a result with lower 80s with perhaps some upper 70s midweek climbing only slightly by the weekend, into the mid to upper 80s.
