While the 70-degree weather and dry and comfortable conditions we had earlier this week were beautiful, the heat, humidity, and wet conditions returns in the forecast.
We have cooled down in the past hour as we head into dinner time. But conditions are still muggy outside as dew points are in the lower 70s. Expect this trend to stick around...
Expect conditions tonight to remain muggy. Partly cloudy skies for tonight with muggy lows in the upper 60s-lower 70s. A slight chance for a stray thunderstorm or two for areas East of Peoria, near the Bloomington-Normal. Though, odds are fairly low, timing for this to occur will be after 7PM but before 11 PM.
Your Sunday will start off cloudy, but they begin to clear out as we head into the afternoon hours. Though your temperatures will be in the upper 80s-lower 90s, the heat index will be make it a different story.
Heat index can soar between the mid-90s to 100 degrees by the afternoon. I expect areas along the Illinois River Valley and West to see a greater heat index while Bloomington-Normal areas in the lower 90s. Conditions will remain dry, but wet weather to occur Sunday night into Monday.
The heat and mugginess continue on Monday: expect highs in the upper 80s-lower 90s and afternoon heat indices from 95 to 100 degrees along with scattered showers.
Rain chances do not leave us after Monday. Rain chances every day in the 7-day forecast. The good news--we start to cool down back to normal after Monday.
