Heat indices will top out around 100 degrees again across much of the area Wednesday afternoon. There is a limited potential for rain by Thursday as the remnants of Hurricane Laura approach from the south. Even then the threat looks like it will pretty much stay south of the area. Hurricane Laura is expected to make landfall between southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana this week. Remnants from the system will track north and increase chances for rain late this week. Rain could be heavy in some areas mainly south of the Tri-States, with localized flooding potential. However, there is enough uncertainty that any deviation from the current track could still increase or decrease the probability for heavy rain.
There is a better chance of rain next Monday.
