MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Monday! The first work week of August has begun and we are expecting a mainly dry week with lower-than-average humidity. For our Monday, we are waking up to mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. Patchy light fog is possible in spots this morning, but no widespread concerns are expected. Any fog should lift between 8 and 9 a.m. We look to see partly cloudy skies throughout our Monday with a chance of isolated showers and storms in the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the low-90s. Even with the rain chances in place, most of us will remain dry. This will be a common theme as we head throughout this week and weekend. We look to see partly cloudy skies tonight with a chance of a stray shower. Morning lows by Tuesday will be in the upper-60s.
Isolated showers and storms will be possible Tuesday afternoon, otherwise expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper-80s. Rain chances will go down further heading into Wednesday and Thursday of this week. We’ll see a chance of a pop-up shower or storm each afternoon. High temperatures will gradually begin warming as well. Highs will be around 90 degrees on Wednesday and around 93 on Thursday.
Isolated showers and storms will be possible Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. High temperatures during this time frame will warm even further. Highs will be in the mid-90s over the weekend. The humidity factor will stay unseasonably low heading into the weekend as well, but it will be slightly more humid this weekend than compared to the work week. Overall, expect a warm and mostly dry weekend ahead.
