Warming Up Next Week

Good evening… Canadian high pressure, which brought a couple of chilly days to the region is slowly starting to move east. However, it will take another day or two to completely lose its influence on us. As it moves east of the area southerly winds on the back side of it will start to warm us up in time for the new workweek.
As we head into tonight, look for a clear and chilly night. Overnight lows in the north will drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s, with a few of those cool spots in the east and northeast dropping into the lower to middle 30s. A FROST ADVISORY is in effect for eastern and northeastern areas through tonight. It includes, Clark, Jackson, Monroe, Juneau and Adams Counties in the News 8 Now viewing area. Farther south, expect lows in the lower to middle 40s. We can expect a light southeast wind around 5 mph.
As we head into the weekend, look for a mix of sun and clouds both days. High temperatures tomorrow will once again top out in the middle 60s in the south and the middle and upper 60s in the north. With the high to our east by Sunday, look for a breezy and warmer day. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Once again, we should see plenty of sunshine. However, expect south winds in the 10 to 20 mph range, with higher gusts.
Looking ahead… another breezy day is in store Monday as highs warm into the lower to middle 70s. Temperatures will then rise into the middle 70s to lower 80s for the rest of the week.
As far as rainfall is concerned, it appears much of next week looks dry. The exception is Wednesday and Wednesday night, when a weak cool front moves across the region. Today’s data still indicates the chance of measurable rain looks rather small at this time. So, it appears the sunny and dry weather will continue.
Have a great weekend! Don’t forget take a jacket with you if heading out late tonight or tomorrow morning. -WKBT Cory Malles
