Stagnant pattern of dry, warm conditions - KSNB Local 4

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The weather we’ve been seeing over the last several days has been near average temperatures, with very little rain, which has truly been the pattern since the beginning of August. We are looking to warm up again, with temperatures into the ’80s, but they’re still not much chance for rain in the coming days. The haze from the wildfire is out west continues over the next several days, but some days won’t be quite as hazy as others.

For our Sunday, it will continue to be quite breezy around the area. Winds will gust out of the south generally around 25 to 40 miles per hour at times, with higher gusts expected around midday. Highs will make it up into the 80s and lows overnight will drop back into the upper 50s.

For Monday, very similar weather will be the case, but the winds will back off a bit as a boundary comes across the Sandhills. The Tri-Cities area and Eastern Nebraska will see the bulk of the wind, but not quite as much wind will be behind the boundary around the sand hills and into the panhandle. Highs for Monday will be in the low to mid 80s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will continue the sunny and warm weather, with eyes in the mid-80s around the area, and Lowe’s will drop back into the 50s overnight. Later in the week, it looks like we will continue to see our temperatures warm steadily into the upper 80s by Friday. Earlier in the last couple of days, there was some model discriminant around this time frame where a cold front may dive through, bring the chance for some isolated showers and thunderstorms, and bring our temperatures weld back into the 70s. The models have drifted from this solution recently, and appear to have higher confidence that that cold front will remain north of our region and not bring in the chance for rain and cooler temperatures.

Next weekend continues to look to be above average with lots of sunshine, and potentially haze, depending on the status of the wildfires out west. The upper level pattern will be conducive for transporting smoke though, so it looks like we might be seeing some hazy days through most of the month of September.
