Your current work-from-home wardrobe may not require perfectly pressed pleats, but there are plenty of other reasons to visit your dry cleaner.

Does your bedding fit in your washing machine at home?

“Most of us don’t clean our bedding often enough,” says Curtis Scheelke, owner of Valley Cleaners in Aberdeen and Speedy Wash in Hoquiam. “But I’m not in the business of making people feel bad. I’m just here to help if you want to feel good!”

Are your drapes collecting wildfire sediment, and in need of a delicate clean? Maybe you traded your business suit for a swimsuit, and spent a lot of this socially distant summer camping in a tent. Send your fancy sleeping bag to Scheelke for a high quality clean.

“We’ve always cleaned white collar work shirts by hand, and we take that same care with everything people bring us,” says Scheelke who’s been caring for Grays Harbor’s garments since 1983. “We treat every garment like you bought it of the fanciest rack upstairs at Nordstrom. And if you bought it on sale at a discount store? We’ll make it look like you bought it at Nordstrom!”

More than dry cleaning

Scheelke was one of the first dry cleaners in the state to embrace environmentally friendly cleaning products, using a silicone solvent from Green Earth Cleaning.

“It’s made out of sand, and it turns back into sand after we use it to clean your garments. Other cleaners may have a sign that says they’re eco-friendly, but many of them still use petrochemicals,” Scheelke says. “The Green Earth system is more gentle on fabrics and better for the environment.”

Both Valley Cleaners and Speedy Wash offer modern, safe self-serve laundromat services with full time attendants on duty to keep the space tidy —and the water’s extra hot. Short on time? Both locations offer wash and fold services. Too short for your jeans? Get them hemmed!

“We have a tailor and a seamstress for repairs and alterations to clothing and other textiles,” Scheelke says.

Both stores are open long hours, so you can squeeze in a load of laundry at a time most convenient to you. Note that only Valley Cleaners has dry cleaning service.

Visit Valley Cleaners in Aberdeen at 600 W Market St., open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (last load time), Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Find Speedy Wash in Hoquiam at 401 6th St., open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Follow Valley Cleaners on Facebook for the latest coupon codes!
