Wall of high pressure to west will make it high & dry here for a week - CBS 3 Duluth

WEATHER STORY: A wall of high air pressure cells is forming to our west and that will block most cloud development and precipitation for a whole week. The only chance for precip may come Saturday night and Sunday morning with flurries for MN and light lake effect snow for WI and MI.

FRIDAY NIGHT & SATURDAY MORNING: The sky will be clear to partly cloudy from the first of the highs. The low temp will be near 27. The wind will be W 5-15 mph.

SATURDAY: High air pressure will make for a mostly sunny sky. The extra solar radiation will allow high temps to go towards 40 which is about 10 degrees warmer than normal. The wind will be W 5-15 mph.

SUNDAY: Sunday will be the closest thing to a cloudy day in the next week as a low grazes but mostly misses our region. There will be a 20% chance for MN flurries and light lake effect snow along the South Shore of Lake Superior. Otherwise, the sky should be partly sunny. Morning low will be 25 with an afternoon high temp pretty close to normal at 30. The wind will be NW 10-20 mph.

COMING UP: By Monday, the sunny side will be up again as the second high takes over the Upper Midwest. That one will make temps slightly cooler than normal for a couple of days. Meteorologist Dave Anderson will talk about when normal temps will take over from that cool snap Friday night on the CBS 3 news at 5, 6 and 10 pm. Meteorologist Peter Kvietkauskas will fire up the Doppler this weekend to look for any chance of rogue snow sneaking into the otherwise dry forecast.
