WGAL News 8 Storm Team Meteorologist Ethan Huston says temperatures stay below average to start the week ahead.
A large ridge of high pressure centered over southern Canada will continue to control our weather for the next few days as a deep bend or trough in the jet stream stays over the region through midweek. The result will be a cooler than average start to the week with dry weather. Lows tonight will be near 30 degrees with increasing cloud cover across the region. Monday will be chilly with highs only near 40 degrees with more sunshine later in the afternoon. A storm system moves off the east Coast as high pressure builds in from the Ohio River Valley Tuesday. Winds may be blustery at times. Temperatures stay cool with highs in lower 40s. Temperature start to warm midweek with highs returning to near 50 by Thursday. An storm system moves into the Great Lakes region by Friday. We could start to see some showers from the system Saturday. Depending on the speed of the system, some showers are possible Sunday.
