There is the potential for severe weather tonight, but it will be calmer tomorrow.
Tonight: We currently sit under a marginal risk for isolated strong to severe storms. These are forecast to occur before midnight and ahead of a cold front. The line of storms will weaken as it approaches the Baton Rouge metro, so the main line of storms will be in and out of here rather quickly. The cold front will follow, leading to cool temperatures overnight. Winds will be northwesterly at 5-10 mph. Low near 45.
Tomorrow: We’ll start the workweek cool, dry and a little cloudy. By the afternoon, clouds will break allowing in a little sunshine. Temperatures will only be in the mid 50s, which is almost 10 degrees below average. Winds will be northerly at 5-10 mph. High near 56.
Extended: Our average temperature for this time of year is 64, and until Saturday, our highs will stay below that number. On Tuesday, highs will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, and we’ll stay mainly dry. Overnight, rain is forecast to move through south Louisiana. By Wednesday, we’ll be mainly dry again with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Expect lots of sunshine on Thursday and Friday with temperatures in the mid 50s to upper 60s. Our nxt chance for storms will be on Sunday. This will also be the warmest day of the week with highs close to 70. By Sunday, we’re looking at isolated showers and cooler temperatures.
