Wednesday Night: Storm threat tonight; Cool and dry by Christmas - BRProud.com

dry.indah.link

There is a slight risk for strong to severe storms tonight. Make sure to stay weather aware.

Tonight: We sit under a slight risk for severe weather. The threat is a line of storms that will arrive around midnight. The main impacts will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado is also possible. The threat of hail is low, but it cannot be ruled out. Because this line will move through when many people will be sleeping, it is important to have multiple ways of receiving warnings. Make sure to have a way that will wake you up in case alerts are issued. Once this line passes, showers will quickly exit. Winds will be southwesterly at 10 to 20 mph with gusts exceeding 30 mph. Low near 40.

Tomorrow: It will start off cloudy as you head out the door, but those clouds will clear by midday. We’ll see lots of sunshine, but that won’t do much for our temperatures. Highs will only rise into the mid to upper 40s, but it will feel way colder with winds out of the northwest. Wind gusts could be as high as 30 mph. All-in-all, it will only feel like the upper 30s outside. Stay warm as you finish your last minute Christmas shopping. High near 47.

Extended: Low temperatures on Christmas morning will be in the low 30s, so a light freeze is likely. Highs on Christmas will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s making this one of the chilliest Christmases since 2013. The warmer weather will return over the weekend. By Sunday, highs will be in the mid 60s. We could see a few isolated showers during the day on Monday and overnight into Tuesday, but Wednesday will be the best opportunity for scattered showers.
