Meteorologist April Loveland's First Warning Forecast

High pressure will keep us dry and clear overnight. Winds will subside and temperatures will plummet into the 20s. A few communities will feel a few degrees colder, even though our winds will be much lighter. Some areas could wake up feeling like the upper teens.

Plenty of sunshine on tap to kick of a frigid start Sunday. Temperatures will warm to the low and mid 40s. Clouds will build in by the late afternoon and evening ahead of our next weather maker. Not as cold overnight due to more cloud cover. Expect lows in the mid 30s.

Widespread rain will be the story on Monday. Expect rain at times during the day with highs in the upper 40s. Showers will continue overnight and into Tuesday morning, with drying conditions by the afternoon. At this moment, temperatures will be all over the place. Right now, keeping highs in the mid and upper 50s, making it our mildest day of the week.

Wednesday is looking mostly dry with rain moving in late. Skies will otherwise be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s. Showers will be possible overnight. A little wintry mix is not out of the question. The area of low pressure will continue to move through on Thursday with mainly rain and wind for our area, but we could see a little snow or a wintry mix. The weather models are still disagreeing, but we will continue to keep a chance during the afternoon and evening on Thursday for a changeover to snow or a rain/snow mix as the storm system exits. The storm will move off the coast late with much colder and drier conditions. Temperatures will plummet into the upper 20s overnight.

Friday will be a blustery day with frigid conditions. It will be a brisk start to the day with wind chills in the teens. Even though temperatures will be warming to the low 40s during the afternoon, it will still feel like the upper 20s and low 30s due to breezy conditions. We will see low temperatures drop into the upper 20s once again.

Looking dry and seasonal on Saturday with highs in the upper 40s under partly cloudy skies.
