Dry and pleasant weather continues through the weekend and beyond - WDJT

Southeast Wisconsin has been enjoying a fantastic stretch of early spring weather over the last 12 days. Since February 22nd, Milwaukee has only picked up 0.01” of precipitation, which came in the form of 0.1” of snow.

During that stretch, temperatures have warmed above freezing every day and have dropped near to below freezing at night. The combination of dry weather, sunshine, mild days, and chilly nights has created a nearly perfect snow melt across southeast Wisconsin. Over the last 12 days, 19” of snow has melted in Milwaukee with zero flooding issues.

Dry weather will continue through the weekend and into early next week. Temperatures will be held in check on Saturday as a lake breeze develops, but a warming trend is expected through the middle of next week as winds turn to the west and southwest.

While we’ll  be dry through Tuesday, we could have a soaking rain move into the area Wednesday into early Thursday. There’s even a chance we may hear a few rumbles of thunder as the front moves through. By then we’ll likely have melted all but the big piles of snow, and with the mild temps the ground will continue to warm and hopefully limit any flooding issues from the mid week rain.
