One more very nice Spring day for today, then things will change. The weather will not be too bad, just not as good as today.
Today: A mix of sun and clouds, becoming breezy and quite mild. Record highs possible.
High: 58 Wind: South 15-25
Tonight: Thickening clouds with showers likely late.
Low: 45 Wind: South 10-15
Wednesday: Cloudy with off-and-on rain. Maybe a rumble of thunder.
High: 53 Wind: South~10
So how nice will it be today? There will be a few more hazy clouds than yesterday but the temperature will be warmer. It will be quite spring-like with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Some locations could set new records for March 9th warmth. The weather will be more breezy than yesterday as well. Winds will be out of the south increasing to 15-25 mph during the afternoon.
Clouds will thicken for tonight as a large low pressure system moves into the upper Midwest. Late tonight some rain will develop in our area and it will continue periodically through the day on Wednesday. Keep your umbrella handy as over a half-inch of rain is possible for most areas. There might even be a clap or two of thunder with highs in the low to mid 50s.
The storm will exit our area early Thursday morning and might still produce a couple of snow showers in the far north as temps cool down. Skies should turn partly cloudy Thursday afternoon with highs in the 40s. A cold front moving through on Friday will cool things down even more. The mercury will be more seasonal, in the upper 30s on Friday.
The good news is that there should be a good amount of sun on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Temps will slowly warm up over the weekend as well, topping out in the low 40s on Saturday and the mid 40s on Sunday.
Have an excellent Tuesday! Meteorologist Justin Loew, Morning Update, 9-March-2021
