Dry conditions will be the rule over the next several days.
This weekend will be dry with a decent amount of sunshine expected. Highs will generally be in the mid 40s in the mountains to the lower 50s elsewhere both days.
Into next week, we’ll continue the dry trend but the main difference that you’ll notice will be the warming temperatures.
On Monday we’ll see highs in the 50s in the mountains and lower 60s elsewhere.
Tuesday sees a similar story – dry, but even a touch warmer. Mountain areas will climb closer to the upper 50s to near 60. East of the Blue Ridge looks closer to the mid 60s.
Wednesday and Thursday, yep…still dry with highs climbing a few more degrees with Piedmont locations likely climbing into the lower 70s for highs. Mountain communities should linger back into the lower and middle 60s.
On Friday, models are hinting at a few showers possible, but we’ll keep it mild.
Since we’re in the midst of a dry spell, one thing to remember is that conditions are ripe for the rapid spread for fires. Brush fires and wild fires could develop fairly easily with dry conditions, lower humidity and dry surface fuels.
The 4 p.m. Burn Law continues in Virginia that prohibits outdoor burning until after 4 p.m. Even then, conditions are just right for the opportunity for explosive growth of fires, so you’re urged to forego any burning at all until we can get some moisture in the area.
