Portland will be dry and mostly sunny Saturday, offering splendid spring conditions before rain and a cold front move in Sunday afternoon.
The National Weather Service expects Saturday’s high temperature to be 62 degrees. High pressure over the area until Saturday night will keep most of the region dry, the agency said.
A cold front will first hit southern Washington and the north Oregon coast Sunday morning before moving south and east throughout the day. Rain is likely after 3 p.m., and winds could gust as high as 26 mph, the weather service predicted.
The subsequent mass of cold air will bring snow levels down to elevations of 1,000 to 1,500 feet by Monday morning.
There’s also a small chance of thunderstorms near the coast and over the Pacific Ocean on Sunday night.
Monday is expected to bring rain showers, and the weather service predicts Portland will see mostly sunny skies Tuesday through Thursday.
