It has been a dry month for parts of eastern Iowa. Some locations have not seen 0.50" of rain yet. Southeastern Iowa has some locations exceeding 2" of rain. The map below shows the amount of rain for the month of April ending on Friday, April 23.

Dubuque: 1.91"
Cedar Rapids: 1.41"
Iowa City: 2.37"

Waterloo has just one day with more than 0.10" rainfall this month. It has been almost two week without any rain in Waterloo.

Waterloo has only 0.40" of rain and this is the #2 spot for the driest April on record.

There is rain in the forecast. The map below shows the amount of rain possible between now and the end of the month. There is a chance for thunderstorms Tuesday night. If we do get them we could see around 1" of rain. If not then the amounts are expected to be lower.
