ROCKFORD (WREX) — After a rainy and gloomy weekend, next week brings dry conditions as well as some sunshine. Temperatures briefly cool off only to warm again.
Finally Dry:
With the wash-out like conditions we saw on Saturday and spotty showers on Sunday, next week will look a lot different.
For the rest of the afternoon, there remains a slight chance for some scattered showers. The showers will be light and spotty but most of the area will be dry. As we get into the evening and over night hours, those chances for rain diminish and we will be left with partly cloudy skies for tonight.
Monday will bring back dry conditions and some sunshine to the Stateline with partly sunny skies expected. Starting tomorrow, we still be staying dry for a majority of next week.
As we stay dry, we will also see a better chance for sunshine. With some cloud cover expected, sunshine will continue to peak through the clouds with mostly sunny days expected.
Temperatures will cool off once we get to mid week. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature highs in the low to mid 50s. As we move through the remainder of the week, temperatures will begin to warm again only to flirt with the 60 degree mark by the end of the week and into the weekend.
With temperatures staying average this week, we can finally put the rain gear and umbrellas away!
Breezy:
With conditions staying dry and some sunshie returning to the area, we will see slighty breezy conditions for the start of the week.
Monday features wind gusts that could gust upwards of 30 miles per hour. Some spots may gust closer to 35 miles per hour.
Once we get to Tuesday, wind gusts die down slightly as we'll see gusts gusting up to 25 miles per hour. The rest of the week will see calmer winds.
