A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8 pm for much of North Texas. Showers and thunderstorms will be scattered throughout the area this evening. The strongest storms will be capable of large hail and gusty winds. The storms will gradually move east by mid evening, and the overnight hours will be dry.
The weekend will be dry and mild with highs in the mid 70s Saturday and low 80s Sunday. Monday will be warm with highs in the mid 80s. The next chance of storms will be Wednesday and Thursday.
