Jacksonville, Fl — Another hot day is on tap for us today. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says today we’ll once again we’ll reach the 80s at the beaches and the low 90s inland while gradually mixing in more humidity.
There is a very high wildfire risk and there will be no widespread beneficial rainfall the rest of the work week. A wildfire in Ware County, Georgia grew to 500 acres. Southerly winds will keep smoke away from the Jacksonville area.
“There’s really no chance for any rain of any consequence so our wildfire danger continues to grow. By the weekend we bring in that humidity”, said Buresh. And that could bring in a widely scattered afternoon shower into our holiday weekend.

An isolated afternoon shower or storm may develop by Saturday with scattered showers and storms developing on Sunday afternoon and evening. Memorial Day will be warm in the 80s. A few showers/storms will be pushing inland during the afternoon.
