TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today will make the 19th straight day with no measureable rain at Tampa International Airport. The lack of rainfall, low humidity, and breezier days have made for an increased risk for fires.
We topped out in the low 90s, but more comfortable temperatures are on the way this evening as we are still enjoying lower-than-normal humidity. Expect mostly clear skies through the evening with overnight lows sinking down into the low 70s.
Wednesday will be similar, waking up in the low 70s and warming up into the low 90s with a few building clouds, but otherwise dry conditions. Expect a sea breeze to develop, keeping coastal towns out of the 90s, while inland areas heat up into the low 90s.
At this point, there is just a 10% chance of rain Friday and a 20% chance for afternoon showers on Saturday. It does increase to 30% Sunday and Memorial Day.
