April was a fairly warm and dry month, but May started off very wet. The first half of April was the warmest start on record but then we had some colder days and the month ended tied for the 15th warmest April on record. It was also well below on both rain and snow and ended tied for the 17th driest on record.
May averages a little less total precipitation than April with 3.40" on average and we still average a tenth of snow as those around in 1990 remember well. When it comes to temps, May sees the average high warm ten degrees from 60* to 70* and the average low goes from the low 40s to the low 50s.
May of 2021 started off pretty wet with a very nice soaking rain rolling through the area Monday afternoon and evening through midnight. Some areas north of I-94 picked up almost 3" of rain with many northern spots over an inch. Southern areas didn't see as much with 0.25-0.75" there.
