City streets will have just enough time to dry off before showers return Saturday night and continue through early next week.
National Weather Service forecasters say Portland will be “warm and muggy” Saturday, with mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 77 degrees.
Showers are expected to return after 3 p.m. and become heavier overnight. Up to half an inch of rainfall is expected by Sunday morning.
Heavy showers will continue all day Sunday, with possible thunderstorms in the afternoon and a high near 71 degrees.
Next week will have a rainy start before giving way to warm and sunny conditions Wednesday.
Weather service forecasters expect “plenty of showers” Monday, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 73 degrees. Rain will continue through Tuesday, bringing a chance of afternoon thunderstorms and a high near 71 degrees.
Portland will wake up to sunny skies Wednesday, with the high temperature rising to 80 degrees. Conditions will get warmer and sunnier through the end of the week, with Friday seeing a high near 88 degrees.
The Northwest continues to be under extreme fire danger despite the notable rainfall expected this weekend and early next week.
