Scattered Showers & Storms Tonight
Friday’s Forecast High: 88F / Tonight’s Low: 63F…
It was a very warm and sticky Thursday across the region as higher humidity returned to the area. Highs were in the mid-upper 80s, with the La Crosse airport reaching 90F. We’ve had above average temps on 6 of the last 7 days in La Crosse.
Today will be warm and humid as well, under partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the mid-upper 80s.
A cold front will track southeast across the region tonight, bringing scattered showers and t-storms. Some of the storms could be strong to severe, especially in northern and western parts of the viewing area. The storms will likely be in a weakening state as they track southeast across the viewing area tonight. The main threats from any stronger storms would be gusty winds, hail and downpours. Of course, lightning is always a threat with thunderstorms.
With the chance for strong storms tonight, we’ll call this evening and overnight an ALERT DAY… mainly in the 8pm to 2am time frame. Just be extra weather aware tonight and keep an eye on the radar.
Showers will end early Saturday morning south/east. Otherwise, expect a mostly sunny day and less humid conditions, with highs in the upper 70s to around 80F. Sunday will be dry as well with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low-mid 80s.
Looking Ahead… Monday and Tuesday looks dry and pleasant with highs in the upper 70s to around 80F. Slight chances for showers and storms Wednesday through Friday with highs mainly in the low 80s.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend! -Bill Graul
