Today’s Forecast:
We're looking hot and mostly dry today across southern Colorado, but big changes are on the way! High temperatures will be in the 90s with a couple of triple digits across the lower elevations. There might be a stray mountain shower or thunderstorm this afternoon, but most of us will remain dry. Overnight a cold front will move in, but we'll stay mild with lows in the 60s.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 91; Low: 62. Hot and dry with smoky skies mainly over the mountains and a stronger afternoon breeze.
PUEBLO: High: 98; Low: 64. Very hot and dry with a stronger afternoon breeze.
CANON CITY: High: 94; Low: 66. Hot and dry with a breezy afternoon. A stray storm could form out west in Fremont County, mainly over the mountains.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 82; Low: 54. Warm and likely dry in Woodland Park today with more smoke and a stray storm over the mountains. Air quality is better today compared to earlier this week.
TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Warm and dry with a stronger afternoon breeze and better air quality with less smoke.
PLAINS: High: 90/100s; Low: 60s. Very hot and dry with a breezy afternoon and elevated fire conditions.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Hot and breezy with light smoke over the mountains.
Extended Outlook:
A strong cold front comes through overnight and early Friday morning with rain to follow Friday night. We'll see even cooler air by Saturday with more rain and thunderstorms on Saturday. Sunday and Monday look mainly dry other than isolated storms in and around the mountains.
