The weekend weather will have you making choices of which day is best for certain activities. Saturday is going to be dry, and most of us will have a few showers Sunday.
Here’s a look at the weather system movement from late Friday night to late Sunday night.
A swath of showers and thundershowers should sweep across Michigan, mostly on Sunday. Below is the forecast for Saturday afternoon, showing only the western U.P. having some showers.
Sunday morning’s forecast at 8 a.m. shows showers covering the northwest half of Lower Michigan.
The forecast just below shows the heart of Sunday, and showers will be around Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Saginaw, Bay City and northeast Lower. Showers may hold off for far southeast Lower, including Ann Arbor and Detroit, until late Sunday afternoon or evening.
Just below is the final forecast time period for the weekend. Showers may still be holding off in the far southeast, around Detroit.
The total rainfall forecast below shows the highest amounts of rain will come in the eastern Lower and Thumb areas. The higher rain is due to a more unstable time of the afternoon when showers are in that region.
Saturday will be a summery day, with highs in the 80s. I think far southeast Lower could come close to 90 degrees.
Sunday’s thermometer will be just a little bit lower due more clouds and some showers during the middle of the day.
Saturday has a great, light wind pattern for boating or anything outside.
Sunday will be a touch more breezy as the showers move through your area. It still won’t be a windy day.
If you want to do something outside, Saturday is definitely a better day. Plan on getting wet at times on Sunday, unless you are in the far southeast and Detroit area.
