December starts off mild and sunny, with the entire state seeing above average highs.
Tuesday’s forecast
Under clear skies overnight and light winds, morning lows for most of Minnesota dropped into the teens, with single digits in the Arrowhead. This is seasonable for the start of December.
However, the rest of the day turns mild thanks to sunshine and southerly winds. Expected highs in the 30s, with a few 40s in the southwestern corner of the state, are 5 to 10 degrees above average.
The winds will be a little breezy along the western edge of the state, gusting 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
A cold front moves through Wednesday, but brings little change to the temperatures. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
