For the most part, Sunday will be an encore of Saturday – it will just be a few degrees warmer.
We can expect a mix of sun and clouds today with highs in the 30s in the mountains and in the lower to mid 40s elsewhere.
Starting tonight, we’ll see clouds filter back in ahead of a wet day on Monday.
Overnight lows will likely occur close to midnight as temperatures slowly climb from the mid-to-upper 20s into the lower-and-middle 30s around sunrise.
Precip could begin shortly before sunrise in our western-most communities and could start as either a wintry mix or snow in parts of the NRV. Likely more of a snow start in the Highlands where some light accumulations will be possible before nearly everyone ultimately changes to rain by mid-to-late morning.
Beyond that, the rest of the week is looking relatively dry and milder.
Lots of sunshine is expected heading into Tuesday but we’ll notice the winds kicking back up a tad. Many areas will be in the 50s. Parts of the Piedmont could flirt with the 60-degree mark.
On Wednesday, more widespread 60s will be in the cards with a few more clouds – our first true taste of Spring!
We’ll lose a few degrees between Wednesday’s high and Thursday’s high as many areas fall back into the lower and middle 50s, but we’re still looking dry.
Friday looks cooler as a few light rain/snow showers look possible.
So, the way things are looking right now, we’re not looking at anything significant over the next week. The Highlands may have a little bit of snow to shovel Monday morning. Besides that, mostly rain with a few pockets of sleet or freezing rain early Monday before transitioning to rain, so enjoy one last nice day. It will still be chilly for your Sunday, but at least it’s dry, right?
